Palm Jebel Ali Island (PJA) is one of the three large artificial islands located on the Jebel Ali coastal area of the Emirate of Dubai.
The art strategy developed by UAP provides the framework for the commissioning of art that responds to the architectural plan for the island. Like the island design, the strategy embraced the waterfront, urban spaces and green spaces whilst also providing unique transport experiences. It positions the Palm as a benchmark project in the region, creates a sense of place and embraces a vibrant cultural life for its residents and visitors.
The strategy identifies numerous artwork opportunities within the urban spaces throughout Palm Jebel Ali. These artwork opportunities ranged from highly integrated solutions through to iconic sculptural commissions.
