London-based, Australian artist Nike Savvas was commissioned by Deutsche Bank to create two permanent works for their Asia Pacific head office in downtown Sydney, a Foster & Partners designed building. Spread across three separate floors, Transcendental is a delicate exploration of translucency and reflection, and boldly explores the possibilities of art in a work place environment. The power of Transcendental resides at the point between the visible and the invisible; the transparent glass bubbles, delicately suspended, create a tension between the tangible, and the intangible. They allow the viewer to 'transcend' traditional space as it were, and imagine another realm.
