ARTWORK Memory Forest
ARTIST Susan Lincoln
Created by artist Susan Lincoln for an
urban transport interchange, Memory
Forest represents a strand of ghost gums trees that are characteristic of
Australian bushland. The installation's composition introduces calming elements
of the natural environment into this bustling location. UAP's head
patternmaker, Jerko Starcevic, worked in close consultation with Lincoln to
create full scale patterns of the work based off the artist's models. The
pieces were then cast in aluminium and finished and polished prior to
application of the paintwork. They were painted with highly durable
polyurethane to achieve the delicacy and colour of the artist's ceramic-finish
intent with an additional anti-graffiti clear coat applied to ensure maximum
protection of the works in the public realm.
