10-metre galvanized steel forms rise against a backdrop of commercial highrise buildings in Brisbane. Seen from a Gold Coast waterway, Tall Timber is an installation that plays with scale. From the water's edge, the steel forms appear giant and dominate the landscape. On ground level however, the viewer realises the forms mimic the colossal towers behind. This tension between the background and foreground makes Tall Timber experientially and visually successfully.
