Manly Interchange was a major redevelopment of a transport interchange
sponsored by the NSW Department of Transport and the Sydney Harbour Foreshore
Authority. UAP was commissioned through Tract Landscape Architects to design a
range of urban elements for the revitalized foreshore precinct. Nautilus, the main sculptural feature,
was inspired by shells found in Sydney Harbour and incorporates misting devices
that create a highly popular interactive water feature. Other elements designed
for the project include street furniture, telephone booths and a historical
timeline.
